How many people here blog? (everyone) How many get more than 5,000 visits a month? (a few)
Out of 42 million blogs, there 5-10% of blogs that are active and a small amount those are active enough to support a business or cause successfully.

Go through a process of Self Discovery
Focus – Have a clear mission statement, understand your customer and have specific goals – x of sales, leads, content, etc.
Discipline – Having a policy that you engage with every person, publish at the same time…
Authenticity – Take a stand, create original content aligned with your core belief, monetize through trust…
Relationships – Attend offline events, join a tribe, look someone in the eye digitally. Top blogs post 20 times or more a day!
Delegation – Strategically use guest bloggers, utilize employees and friends, to support sharing and engagement, Hire a virtual assistant.
Conciseness – Post ideas in short form and see what gets engagement, structure content in a reverse pyramid, always revise – try to cut 50% from your posts before posting.
Persistence – Follow your passion, don’t be a perfectionist, build a support system, be real and relaxed.

Dan also discussed his blogging enablement startup, Triberr, a site that enables bloggers to connect on common topics. It is an idea that has potential and I urge you to explore it.
